Shelby works best with children, teens, and adults struggling with eating disorders and anxiety disorders. Many clients describe her personality as relatable, insightful, and non-judgmental.

Shelby is experienced in treating a variety of eating disorders including Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), Anorexia Nervosa, Orthorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, and Other-Specified Feeding and Eating Disorders (OSFED). In addition, Shelby is well-versed in treating the following anxiety disorders: Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Social Anxiety Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Separation Anxiety Disorder, and Selective Mutism.

Specifically, Shelby utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP) to help her clients better understand and improve their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Shelby is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Natalie Morse, LPC-S, RPT and Whitney Russell, LPC-S, CEDS-S, EMDR Trained. In addition, Shelby is in the process of becoming a Registered Play Therapist (RPT).

Prior to completing her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Southern Methodist University, Shelby earned a Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University where she majored in child and family studies and minored in psychology. Her formal education, both undergraduate and graduate, has prepared her to counsel people of all ages with varying mental health concerns.
